Alpinia, Amomum, Canna, Costus, Curcuma, Etlingera, Globba, Hedychium, Heliconia, Kaempferia, Musa, Roscoea and Zingiber species are represented, as well as others. Bi-lingual: Chinese-English. Not all of these are indigenous to China. This is the result of 30 years research and field work by a dedicated team of botanists and illustrators based at the South China Botanical Garden, which now houses a collection of 280 species of Zingiberales.
